According to co-race director, Mike Greer, Buffalo Springs Lake appears to have been built for the sport of triathlon. "Ideally, if you laid out a venue site, you would put the water in the middle, have bike course go out the opposite direction of the run, ensuring the safest possible course imaginable," elaborates Greer. "In our case, the bike goes east and the run goes west, preventing runners and cyclists from ever crossing paths." Read the story »

On a day that started with a thunder and lightening storm moving directly toward the lake, the athletes competing at Ironman 70.3 Buffalo Springs Lake were pleasantly surprised when the downpour took a turn, giving way to sunshine, blue skies and comfortable temperatures.
