Here in Kona most of the athletes wearing Ironman helmets will likely opt for the high-end Ironman Kona helmet, the buzz in the expo will likely be around the innovative ILS Helmet the company produces.
The Kona features a 25 vent MAXX Air flow system to keep your head cool even in Kona-like heat and humidity. Cool Max pads help absorb sweat, while the Sure Fit Dial retention system keeps the helmet firmly in place, no matter how much wind there is to deal with!
Safety is taken to the next level with the ILS helmet. The patented lighting system in the ILS helmet has LED lights that light the road ahead and can be seen up to a mile away. The wafer thin battery weighs an ounce, but still provides more than 12 hours of battery life per charge. All the lighting technology adds little weight to the Ironman Pro model helmet, which has 24 vents and the same Cool Max pads and Sure Fit Dial retention system used in the Kona.
Chris Lieto and Kate Major are both Ironman Cycling Helmet sponsored athletes who will be competing here at the Ford Ironman World Championship on Saturday.
