Finishes First In CEO Challenge At 2005 Ford Ironman USA Lake Placid

Peter Scharer (Laguna Beach, Calif.) claimed the CEO Challenge title at the 2005 Ford Ironman USA Lake Placid on July 24 in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Scharer, the 42-year old founder of In Foil Inc., which specializes in ID and currency-based product protection, finished with an overall time of 10 hours, 21 minutes and 30 seconds.
Leslie Myers (Burlington, Vt.) finished first in the women’s field with an impressive run of 3:37:37 and an overall time of 10:43:48.
Larry Smith (Turlock, Calif.) finished first in the 50 and over age group with an overall time of 11:31:56. Smith, owner of Smith Chevrolet located in the California central valley, has now completed four Ironman races.
John Schlagenhauf (Brookfield, Wisc.) finished second in the 40-49 age group with an overall time of 10:52:20. Schlagenhauf has now competed in the CEO Challenge at Ford Ironman USA Lake Placid for the fifth consecutive year.
Mike Dannelley (Irvine, Calif.) rounded out the top three in the 40-49 age group with an overall time 11:03:12.
Alex May (New York, N.Y) finished first in the 30-39 age group with an overall time of 10:25:24, John Potter (Alentown, Penn.) finished second in 10:48:26 and Mario Desiderio (Westerville, Ohio) finished third with an overall time of 11:04:53.
The CEO Ironman Challenge is a program designed to be a “race within the race” for CEO’s and high-ranking corporate officers who compete in Ironman triathlons.
